Monterey rebounded from a tough road district 3-5A loss to Tascosa last Friday to knock off #3 Amarillo, 46-44 Friday and jumped up three spots in this week’s TABC Basketball poll to #2 in 5A and are still favorites to win the title this season under Coach Jill Schneider.
Amarillo comes in 5th in 5A and their bitter rival, Tascosa’s Lady Rebeles, come in 6th. Canyon is 7th in 4A and Levelland is ranked 12th in 4A.
Canadian is still #1 in 3A, and Idalou is 8th in the poll. In 2A, Panhandle is second, Farwell is fourth and three more 806 teams are in the top 10! Valley is ranked 2nd in 1A and a plethora of other teams in the 806’s 1A classification are there too!
