Week two is in the books for 806 football and we saw some teams make their way into the win column, while some teams are still winless on the season after two weeks. Lets take a look at the 5A and 4A teams results after the weekend in 806 Football.

5A:

We lead off 5A with Lubbock-Cooper and their dominant second half against Coronado for a 45-17 win on Friday. The game was close at the half as the Pirates led, 24-17 at the intermission. In the second half, however, the Pirates outscored Coronado 21-0 and Jackson Austin impressed with a great night on the gridiron in a decisive victory.

Tascosa got their first win of the season as well as Amarillo with wins over WF Legacy and San Angelo Central, respectfully while Palo Duro remained unblemished on the season with a 12-0 win over Caprock. Monterey also fell to 0-2 with a tough, 29-28 loss to Abilene Wylie in Abilene.

4A

In 4A action, we got started early on Thursday as Andrews was the place where the West Plains Wolves torched the Clint Horizon Scorpions, 63-14. It was 56-7 at the half as West Plains’ defense was flying around all game including an interception on the opening drive by Kane White-Tinsley; who also had five catches for 104 yards and a score to boot. Hereford went into Lubbock and defeated the Matadors by 20 points in a 41-21 tough victory on Friday. The Herd’s defense and their offensive lines were overpowering on the night as they made a statement for everyone to see.

Lastly, Plainview scorched Pampa, 51-18 on the night they honored Hall-of-Famer Zach Thomas and renamed their field after him. Dalhart took it to Perryton, 51-29 and Levelland got their first win on the season with a 23-12 win over Pecos. Dumas kept rolling with a 38-14 victory over Borger, while Canyon and Randall secured victories on Friday. And Lubbock-Cooper Liberty is still going through growing pains as they lost to Idalou, 33-27 in Overtime.
