BRISTOW, FRANCIS LEAD THE WAY FOR TOP PERFORMERS IN THE 806 AT THE STATE MEET

There were some fireworks at the 2026 State Track Meet and we had some great and elite performers that showed up on the big stage on the 40 Acres in Austin, Texas at the University of Texas. Here are the standouts from the last three days of competition for our 806 athletes.

Estacado’s Ivyrson McGuire and Addy McNeal-Jasone Pearson

1 ADDYSON BRISTOW- CANYON LADY EAGLES

Addyson dominated at the State Track meet with Gold Medals in the 800, 1600 and the 4×400 relay; where she made one of the most incredible comeback runs in recent memory to help the Lady Eagles win that race. Oklahoma State will be her next stop, but she left a legacy for her track team, again.

2 MADDIE FRANCIS- SILVERTON

Maddie won the Girls’ 100M Hurdles and the 300M Hurdles at the State track meet in 1A: She went out a winner for the Lady Owls! She also set a 1A conference record with her time in the 100 hurdles of 14:53. She also finished sixth in the Long Jump!

3 PANHANDLE’S GIRLS RELAY TEAMS

The ‘Ettes finished second in the 4×100 relay, third in the 4×200 relay and took home a Gold Medal in the 4×400 relay to end the night. That’s great effort and teamwork by those ladies.

4 ESTACADO’S TRACK TEAM

The Matadors’ track teams, led by Coach Trent Ward and Reginald Davis, shined at the 4A State Meet Thursday. Adalia McNeal, who has secured a DI offer from Western Kentucky, came in third in the Ladies 100M dash and Ivyrson McGuire ran a blistering 21.29 in the 4A Boys 200M dash to finish second; a time that has him gaining steam as he will get some next level offers sooner than later. Both of those athlete’s times were school records; that’s saying a lot with how much speed Estacado has every season.

5 JAXON LAWLER- BUSHLAND

The 2027 Football stud can also make his mark in Track and Field as he finished first in the Shot Put and third in the Discus as well in the 3A Meet on Thursday. He has a ton of offers and we can see why as he is multifaceted in talents and a great young man off of the field.

6 PRESLI POOL- CANYON

Presli is a freshman; which is absurd with what she is already accomplishing on the Track for Canyon’s Lady Eagles. Pool started Thursday with the win in the 3200 meter run; a run where she finished :27 seconds faster than the second place opponent. She also was second in the 1600 and won a Gold Medal as part of the 4×400 relay team to boot. She will be another power athlete for Canyon as they dominate every year in Long Distance and Cross Country.
