The seventh-ranked Abernathy Antelopes got one good non-district tilt in before the Christmas break with a home matchup against the Farwell Steers. The game was high-scoring and intense with Case Micheletti leading the way with Dre Minfield and Darion Duvall contributing heavily in the game as well that saw the Antelopes win, 65-53.

In the first quarter, Micheletti scored eight of his game-high 27”6 points in the game and the Antelopes jumped out to a 20-13 first quarter advantage. In the second quarter, Duvall and Minfield started their game dominance as Abernathy stretched their lead out to 42-26 at the half with three players already in double figures for the ‘Lopes scoring attack.

As both teams stalled a little in the second half, Braddock Foster of Farwell scored 12 of his team-high 17 points in the third and fourth quarters and the Steers put up a great fight and battled every minute of the game; a game that ended up being too much for Farwell to handle in the end as Abernathy moved to 11-3 on the season with the victory, while the Steers fell to a respectable 9-4 on the year. Both teams will be back in action after the Christmas Break.
