Right before the Thanksgiving Break, we got a great contest between the 4th-ranked Idalou Wildcats in 3A and the 14th-ranked Lubbock-Cooper Liberty Lady Patriots in 4A. It was a great game that came down to a decisive 18-5 run in the second half by the Lady Cats en route to a 55-44 victory.
In the first quarter, the Wildcats started out with a 5-Right before the Thanksgiving Break, we got a great contest between the 4th-ranked Idalou Wildcats in 3A and the 14th-ranked Lubbock-Cooper Liberty Lady Patriots in 4A. It was a great game that came down to a decisive 18-5 run in the second half by the Lady Cats en route to a 55-44 victory. 0 run before Liberty finished quarter on a 17-5 run to end the stanza with a 17-10 Lady Patriot lead, led by Abby Dallas’ six first quarter points and countless tough rebounds. In the second quarter, both teams scored 12 points and the halftime result was Lubbock Liberty with the lead, 29-22.
After the half, Idalou outscored the Patriots 11-3 and reclaimed the lead heading into the fourth, 33-32. Karsyn Lutrick was cooking in the third quarter with nine of her game-high 31 points coming in the quarter. In the last period, the Lady Cats roared and pounced as they scored 22 points, while holding the Lady Patriots to twelve points and finished the second half with a 33-15 advantage and won the contest in a great tune-up before the Thanksgiving break.
As mentioned before, Idalou’s Karsyn Lutrick scored 31 to lead all scorers, while Preslee Romero paced the Lady Patriots with 12 in the contest. Idalou will face Floydada at home on Tuesday, while the Lady Patriots are back in action tomorrow as well against #3 Panhandle in 2A.
