This game is going to be huge! Lubbock-Cooper Liberty comes in with a big Week One win over New Home and are looking to keep the momentum going. Idalou is coming off of a loss to Sweetwater and want to redeem themselves with a big road win over the Patriots. Can Idalou get the running game going this game and can they stop Liberty’s running attack? This game will be a good one to see where both teams are going for the rest of the season..
LUBBOCK-COOPER VS CORONADO

The crazy thing here is one of these teams is going to be without a win after two games when the contest is over. Ryan Rodriguez of Lubbock Cooper showed us exactly how good he is on the football field in their close loss to Lovejoy on Friday. JJ Villalobos showed flashes for Coronado in their loss as well, but he will have to do more for the Mustangs to come out on top against a very good Pirate team on Friday. Defensively, what will the Mustangs do to slow the Pirates down; it won’t be easy, but they may be able to muscle out a win if they can.
MONTEREY VS ABILENE WYLIE

This is a big game for Monterey. They need to start off fast and get Coach Sims his first win as Monterey‘s head coach. It won’t be easy though, as Abilene Wiley is a good football team and solid in the trenches. Will Monterey be able to move the ball on the ground With deuce and legion on the attack? what about Monterey‘s defensive line will they be able to show their strength and dominate upfront? If not, it could be a long day for the Plainsmen.
NEW HOME VS #10 ROPES

New Home, TX
I picked this game because I think New Home needs a pick me up after their blowout loss to Lubbock-Cooper Liberty Friday. Will Beck get the offense going as it was unable to muster anything against the Patriots defense last week in their defeat? That’s a question that needs to be answered successfully or they will lose by another wide margin to #10 Ropes: who has a real shot to get out of Region I in 2A DII. I’ll be at this game to see it live; hopefully it’s a good one!!
There’s a couple of colossal games going on as well Friday with Bushland taking on Canadian and Shallowater vs Seminole squaring off!! Week Two is here!
