WITH A SECOND YEAR UNDER RIKER’S DIRECTION, WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM ROPES IN 2024?

I remember last year when I heard the “juice” was back in the 806 after coaching at Brock a couple of years, I was excited. Oh yeah, the man I call “juice” is Coach Beau Riker! Ever since I started covering sports back a few years ago, I’ve always noticed his passion and commitment— he breathes life into his kids and staff members.

That genuineness about him has also rubbed off at his head coaching job with the Ropes Eagles. Last season, the Eagles finished 6-4 on the season and lost to Ralls in the playoffs, but return 17 starters from a young and hungry squad that looks to take it up a notch this season.

Now enter into the fold, Michael Pittman; the former Head Coach for Post who when he was teamed up with Riker as his defensive coordinator, went 30-2 their last couple of years and went to the 2A DI State Championship game two years in a row! Now, the roles have changed as Riker is the Head Coach and Pittman is the Offensive Coordinator, but expect success for these two men as it has been proven time, and time again, that they can flat-out coach!

In 3-2A DII, they have a strong shot to win district this fall, but will have to go through Tahoka— who is favored to win the district by Dave Campbell’s Football. New Home has moved up to 2A DI, but Sundown has moved into the Eagles’ district and will be a tough game! Here is the Ropes Eagles’ 2024 schedule below!
