CORONADO, DUMAS SEE POTENTIAL IN FIRST SCRIMMAGE

Lubbock, TX—- Coronado and Dumas both scrimmaged this afternoon and while both teams have things to settle out and work on, they were impressive for the most part.

Colton Mills warming up for Dumas: Jasone Pearson

Dumas scored on their first set of one-v-one plays against the Mustangs varsity team as Colton Mills was sharp, as usual, through the air and on a few scrambles outside of the pocket. On Coronado’s side, JJ Villalobos, a Senior that has put in the work and waited for his time to come at Coronado, looked very crisp while running the offense .

Willie Crain stood out on both sides of the ball for the Mustangs as he made an incredible catch at the Wide Receiver position and was in on a bunch of tackles for Coronado’s defense; there is a reason Crain has a D1 offer from the Navy, and more to come throughout the season.

What I liked about the scrimmage was both teams flying around for Coach Dunnam’s Demons and Coach Roy’s Mustangs. Coronado will open with Wichita Falls Legacy, while Dumas will take on Caprock on the 29th of this month.

I also interviewed Coach Aaron Dunnam for Dumas and this is what he had to say.
